Vintage Rare Backs

I've been collecting cards since I was about 8 years old, and started my first Baseball set in 1970. The 1976 set had a subset of all-time greats like Honus Wagner, and Ty Cobb and I became interested in older cards. I started my first T206 set in 1979 from a large lot (including 3 Ty Cobbs) I acquired sight unseen from an ad in ‘The Trader Speaks’.

In 1998, I started collecting the rare ad backs to acquire an example of each brand. Some, like the T206 Drum and Uzit were quite difficult to find.  I’m currently ‘type card’ collecting various American Tobacco Co. brands such as T202, T212, T213, and T215 Red Cross.

These days I’m more Dad than collector, and can be found on the local baseball diamond with my son who will be starting his fourth year of baseball.
